Consultation has concluded
Tell us what type of art you would like to see in this location!
The City of Bellingham recently sought qualifications(External link) from muralists who could create a large-scale mural on the pillars and a retaining wall at the underpass located on Birchwood Avenue, between Squalicum Parkway and James Street, in Bellingham. The City received forty responses from artists/artist teams. The Bellingham Arts Commission(External link) reviewed all submittals and selected five artists to develop proposals for the site. We invite community members to provide input on the art at this location. In an effort to create artwork that appeals to neighborhood stakeholders, we especially hope to hear from people who use this road and live in the area.
Take our survey below to share your feedback! Responses will be accepted through March 3, 2023.
Community feedback will be provided to the artists/artist teams to inform their proposals. The artists/artist teams will still reserve the right to interpret input through their lens as an artist.
