The City of Bellingham is updating is Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Plan and we'd like to hear from you! The PROS Plan is a guide to help preserve and expand the community’s parks and recreation system as the population grows. The plan lays out clear goals and actions for building, maintaining, and improving parks and programs. This helps the City decide what to focus on and how to spend its funds. This plan is being updated this year and we want your input!

How You Can Take Part
The City has hired a design firm to coordinate public input and create the plan. We’re making it easy to get involved over the next several months. Here are a few of the ways you can take part:

  • Interactive online surveys you can complete on your own schedule

  • Online open house so you can explore at your own pace

  • An open house event where you can meet the team, ask questions, and share ideas

Once the plan is finalized, it will be reviewed by the Park and Recreation Advisory Board and then go to the Planning Commission and City Council for approval.

For Project Recommendations Special Use 2025/2026 Low please do not change grass fields to turf, especially the softball fields. Its increases the risk of stress injuries and also contributes 6PPD-Q into waterbodies.
