Whatcom Racial Equity Commission Public Engagement

The City of Bellingham and Whatcom County have partnered with the Chuckanut Health Foundation to develop recommendations for the scope and structure of a proposed Whatcom Racial Equity Commission, expected to be presented to the City and County councils for consideration by Fall 2022. This work is in service to the goal of creating a Whatcom County where every person is able to live, thrive, and belong for who they are, as they are, regardless of race.

Through more than a year of focused work, the Chuckanut Health Foundation has led a collaborative, transparent, community-based public engagement process that has accepted community input through work with stakeholders, focus group sessions, website comments and emails, town hall meetings and community visioning summits.

Now all Whatcom County residents are invited to contribute through a community survey, available below through July 21, 2022. (Survey now extended through August 12, 2022.) The information collected in this survey will help us all better understand community priorities and inform the recommendations for the Whatcom Racial Equity Commission.

Your voice can make an impact. Thank you for your time in taking this survey.
